Illegal Station?

This is my favorite station:

It has outstanding receive and great sound! They don't make quality like this anymore.

I'm probably going to turn it into a 6-meter rig someday...
 

There is nothing illegal about that midland CB as unmodified.

If you want to modify it for 6 meters, there wont be much 6 meter activity until the sunspots come back, especially for an AM-only radio. Maybe you'd get more mileage by adding a switch to go below 26.965.
 
I might be wrong, but technically it don't have the fcc certification label.

Maybe it can be operated legally? But I recall reading that it cannot be sold.

just like the exports!
 
As I recall back in the day, during the 40 channel transition, the FCC did mumble something about "no longer being legal" to sell 23 channel rigs, however that brief mumble was about all I've ever heard over the years..
