I never understood where he got the idea the 270.5" wire Imax 2000 was a .64, bad math? It's a perfect 5/8.

Beginning with the speed of light in millions of inches per second:
11803 ÷ 27.185 = 434.2" x .625 = 271.35" x .9979 (VF) = 270.8 - Circumference of .1 x pi = 270.8 - .3 = 270.5" for a 5/8 NOT .a .64 at 27.185MHz - center of band.

Hello NB: I suspect that the Fiber Glass Radom decreases the velocity more than considered. Making it shorter in length.

The 102 inch stainless steel whip when replaced with a 96 inch fiberglass whip antenna has a close to the same VSWR. Or the manufacture is some how limited to it Radom parts limiting its length, and the tuning/matching network is designed to match the antenna. Good question tho.

That makes good sense, but it's more like a .65 at 28.4.

Jay, I'm under the impression that the FG radome doesn't do much at all, but it would need to be a VF of about 97.4% for that to be spot-on.

Yes there are plans to bring the I-10K Interceptor back into production, and other antennas in the works. A new building is being constructed to hold all the machinery and materials. Local government red tape and nit noid rules from So Cal Edison have delayed the workings.

Do you plan to keep the same configuration or turn the match 45° to eliminate some alleged .coupling to the radial?
What about the Shockwave - seems to be an almost exact copy?

Could you give us a hint of what to look forward to in terms of other antennas to be in your line-up? I presume a yagi or three? Maybe other surprises?

Right about 23' of wire if like the Imax, or about 22' 10" of aluminum tubing, +/- an inch.

A .64 is about 6.5" longer than a 5/8, is all.
