My Opinion ? 
I have a few on my Explorer , 1 for my Cobra 140 gtl w/ King Bee 250 fed into a Stryker SRA 10-A for 11m , another POS Rat shack trimmed for my Galaxy 99v & 10m all I use that for is receive . Not a big Fan of Galaxy's it was free so ... & it does put out well , just not me . Cobra Guy here !

You need to disassemble it and grind the paint off the interior so that you have bare metal on the inside

Best to be careful. Never take that name in vain.
Almost learned that the very hard way having made some irreverent joke about “portable base station”. A few days later was in top gear on IH40 eastbound near dawn towards Amarillo from Albuquerque passing Clines Corners and heard a helluva explosion behind me. Mirror reflection almost blinded me. Burning bushes for miles across the desert , . .
Later learned it was from the great Dr Lincoln La Paz himself he acquired the craft of how to form and hurl green lightning fireballs.
Stepped out onto the front porch on Hwy 82 and hurled one northward 140-miles, he did.
Mobile means mobile!

i ran one like that back in the day pushing over 1k pep and it did fine.

I got this same antenna haven't made any dx contacts yet. I'm gonna give it another week I guess to out perform the fransic hot rot antenna I had on there. Made three contacts 2 in new York and 1 in Arkansas with the fransic hot rod antenna the day before my antenna came.
