I did some searching but really couldnt find an answer. i am putting up a new in the box, Mighty Magnum 3, half wave made by Antenna Specialists.
I think i read it would be good to isolate imax's? what about an aluminum half wave that has radials? I know no one that i knew back in the 70's or 80's ever isolated any kind of cb antenna. thanks 4 any info!

And with good reason in my opinion! I just went through this with my Imax and GP kit, isolated everything, five wrap choke balun and all the other majic tricks some post to have positive results with doing, after countless trips up my tower to redo and recheck everything repeatedly, The conclusion I came to is mount it as the manufacturer suggests, after all they are the people who designed and built the antenna. I believe if better performance was to be found by isolating an antenna, it would read that way in the directions. I was one more trip up that tower away from destructing that Imax and ordering a Penetrator, as luck would have it, when mounted as directed it works great and I am pleased with the Imax.

I recommend you set the antenna up as instructed, and if it works as intended, then consider to isolate.

That is what I suggested to IDI, and now he agrees. Plus don't make more than one modification at a time, else you won't know what did what...as you scratch your head...if something goes wrong.
