Hello everyone, I'm new, my vx8e with hardware and software mods, occasionally does not receive AM and FM radio broadcast (now,after mods, have A,F,T index for RM broadcast radio) receiver does not open, if I turn off and on the HT again works.
Same issue when use af dual function, more I can not change the broadcast radio frequency (when in af dual function) if I not select as the primary VFO A, if VFO B is selected I can change VFO B freq but not the broadcast radio freq.
Suggestions?

Hello to all membres,

I have the same problem with a new VX-8DE out of box (not mods). I send email to Yaesu UK and the eShop where I bought it, but for now the only answer that I receive was refer to the use of the aerial antenna. I do a video with the bug and send it to Yaesu and the eShop but no answer at this moment.
I think that I'm going to do a new video with the problem explain in details and I will put it on youtube.

I' ll give you feedback if I receive any answer or about the new video.

PS: this is not a very important problem, but i'm affraid that the problem is hidding something more serious.

Weird problem. My U.S. version doesn't do that. I just replicated what I saw in the video and I couldn't make it do that. Did it only start doing this after you modified it?

do not try before mods, mine occasionaly emits whifle and only in AM.
Laurenzo's radio is out of the box, no mods.
Now try to change menu settings :headbang, any other ideas?

yes, my radio is out of box and no mods.
The problem is the eshop don't believe me and I think they don't want to apply the warranty yet.
I write to Yaesu UK and I give the link to the video today, but I do not have reaction yet from them.

when the radio is connected to power adapter seems work fine.
@ Laurenzo: try with power adapter and let me know.
 
Yes, I do a quick test and it seems to be the same.
And I noted that my battery does not hold a long time, a few hours only.
And you ?
It would be interesting to do the test with another battery.
I have a friend of mine who has take my old vx-8e.
I will ask to check if the problem is the same with his battery.
 
I do no understand, problem solved with power adapter connected?
My battery hold the charge for 5 hours in rx mode with APRS on.
I think we need a 1800mA battery.

I don't think you must buy 1800mA battery because the vx-8e of my friend works perfectly with original battery. Then it's possible there is a bug in the firmware of the radio.

Ok, my eshop will open on 22/ agust, I call him for explain the problem, fingers cross.

PS: your with power adapter connected work fine?
 
Hello,

We know that when the radio is connected to the power supply the problem disappears.
The battery power of my VX-8 is very very low (less than 5 hours in RX!).
When the battery is charged I disconnect it from the power supply and reconnect it a hour after and the carging process is starting again. Is it normal?

Have you the same?
