Jana CB microphone pin out

I just got an email from a friend of mine asking if I had the pin out for the microphone connector for a Jana CB model kj cb 32-mk4. I do not but I thought I would fake it by asking here first and passing the info on to him.

The only info I have is that it has a jack like a headphone jack rather than a normal connector. Is that correct? Any idea what the tip, ring, sleeve connections are? I assume the sleeve is ground,the tip is probably mike audio (white wire?) and the ring is probably PTT.

from the tip is transmit (ball) the next section below that is audio and receive (together) and then below that is ground. With all that said , the wires of the given mic would depend on whats what and where they go , but that's how they wire to the plug.

Thanks switchkit. I guess I just had the tip and ring mixed up. Yeah colour code is not a problem as mics are differant but I just needed to know which pin did what. if I had my hands on the radio it would be a no brainer to figure out but I am needing to pass the info along to a no brainer so he can do it himself. Glad I could help up to this point. Some times those no-brainers can be the hardest ones to tackle ! Go figure huh ? It's like your looking for something and you finally realize it's right in front of you .........

That sounds like me when I am looking for my glasses. My eyes are not very bad and I am legal to drive without them and I actually work without them. I keep forgetting where I last put them down at.
