I just bought an icom ic-701 with the matching power supply and a mic off ebay, everything works and its in great condition, any comments on this radio? It covers 10m through 160m.

They ARE a nice radio only drawback is it does not cover 17 meters

Well I mostly was interested in 20m and 40m, I am a bit limited as to an antenna, I am preparing a dipole for 40m now.

Nice radio and works pretty good. One thing to watch out for is problems with the display. I had two of them that the numbers would jump while tuning but, the radio did not actually change frequency. Careful cleaning of the rotary encoder fixed that.

i've been getting great reports on 10 meters. here lately 10 meters has been open big time, i have talked all over the world on 10 meters the last 4 weeks or so with the icom 701 and just a Antron 99 1/2 waver vertical. but thru the years it's been a great radio.
