Kenwood TS 430s Module HELP

[Wiskey Delta-40]

I just got a TS 430s Radio works GREAT chock full of goodies Inc the AM filter and FM board, The guy I got it from said there was 2 extra boards in it and did not remember what they are for? I tryed google for extra boards and what not could not find anything besides the normal mods..


Does ANY ONE recognize these parts and what they do.....

I would guess it's a digital recorder for contesting.

Try looking up the part numbers on the two IC's and you can get some idea of what the board is for. Or, if you have the schematic for the radio, follow the leads from the board to see what section of the radio it is hooked up to.
Kind of hard to know otherwise.

There was no part # on boards first thing I looked for

I've never seen anything like that for a 430S. Just wondering, does the rig have any added switches to the front or rear panel, and are there any added jacks?

No there is no added switches or extra jacks... From what I can tell the little Board is a roofing filter.. And I had a word with prevous owner again he thinks the bigger board was a added extra speech procosser, You cant have the mic gain past 2 or it will over modulate :blink:

Which microphone are you using and/or are you using the mic's preamp and/or the processor on the radio?

MC-60 preamp off.. proc on for radio.. even with the Yaesu YD 148 @ 3 is even LOUD that came with the radio
