D-104 T-UG8 mic, is it compatable with the 50S?? I'm getting a 50s next week and have a d-104 sitting in the shack. Just thinking.....

Why wouldn't it be compatible if it is wired correctly? If it is an amplified D104 you will not need to turn the gain up very far.

Becareful these are (audio touchy radios ;) Ive had one for years and the stock mic works the best. If yo find a mic that works Ide buy your stock mic mines falling apart.

Do you have the matching AT-50 antenna tuner for yours? I love mine it tunes 160-10 meters pretty fast and is pretty forgiving as what SWR it will tune. My wife used this mobile for years and I may take her 857D out and put this TS-50 back it her vehicle with the tuner so I can use her Yaesu FT-867D for 2 meter SSB besides her 857D has a (Manual Antenna Tuner) so the auto tuner on the Kenwood TS-50 is the cats meow for her. ;)

i been wanting one of those TS50 Kenwood for a long long time, i keep a few hundred stashed back for an opportunity to buy one, one of these days i am going to run across one in a hamfest and i will grab it

Well, I asked some locals about throwing the mic onto the radio and they say don't. But when I'm on the air all reports are excessive bass. I'm leaning real hard about selling it off along with my IC707 and putting the money towards a TS480HX.
