When I first got into CB and got my hands on my first amp I had rfi hell in my mobile. It was an old pickup truck with an antenna mounted on a headache rack.

I went down to the hardware store and bought some heavy duty stranded wire and ran myself an "rf ground" down to the frame. It solved my problem, swr was good, the mic didn't burn my lips anymore and life was good. It took a few years before I figured out what I actually did. That radial would have probably worked better if I tied it off to the tailgate.
