any chance of an error here, or is my thinking wrong...

8 batteries x 1.5volts=12 volts supply voltage, when sams says it needs 15 volts.

seems that it should take 12 batteries, but 12x1.5=18 volts

best of luck, doesn't seem like anyone here remembers those radios.
