Im looking at one but can't find much on it. What chassis does it use? Can it be modded for ch 38 and above? This is a cool looking rig with two huge meters. I just think its cool looking.

Crystal controlled 23-channel radio.

Has a lot of crystals. One set of six controls four channels per crystal. Removing one and substituting it will lose those four original channels to get you four new ones.

To expand it, the connection between those six crystals and the channel selector gets interrupted by a switch, with six sockets for added crystals. Still only gets you 23 new channels from six new crystals. And eighteen wires.

Trickiest part is getting the right crystals, and then getting them to run on the right frequency.

Not particularly cost effective compared to more-modern radios with PLL frequency synthesizers.

I know all that but what i want to know is does it use the older cybernet 23 ch chassis like my old midland 13 898b base or others that used the same type of chassis?
