Lighting a flourescent bulb with a tuned circuit

linearone;You have to remember, back then if you had a 100 watt amp, that was a lot of power. This was back in 1972. Probably before you were born.

I do know that RF will light the florescent tubes.

Hello. I am up late brainstorming ideas.



I am thinking if it is possible to create a crystal diode setup to light a small florescent bulb? Does anyone think it is possible to have the bulb light up without any power source.. Just a tuned circuit?



How strong of a signal is needed? I think it would be fun project to set up a light to inform you a certain band or frequency is open without turning on the radio.. Or maybe make a small night light set to a strong Clear Channel AM frequency..
