I have a nice Ranger 2950DX and A Magnum S45HP and have been talking on Side Band more and more lately and locally. Some of the Guys are ham operators or have Ham radios Yaesu Kenwood etc. Both of my radios after I adjust to there ( TWELVE digit . LOL ) freq counters Clair, Streight up. Stay on frequency and that makes me Happy ;) what other radios are steady on SSB.
Yeah Another beat to death Topic but sometimes a new radio sneaks up on me like the Uniden 980. is this a stable side bander. :thumbup1::thumbdown:

uniden 980ssb is very stable and dead on freq. i get great reports when using it in the mobile

Anytone at-5555 (and all of its other clone radio's) are also great on ssb and the calibration is user adjustable from a hidden menu if you do find they are off a little.

Pretty much ANY processor controlled radio will be stable unless it has been mis-tuned or hacked up. For legal cb sets Uniden has always built some of the best SSB radio's ever. AS an example, old Cobra 2000, 148, Grant xl, Grant lt, Washington, Madison, 122xl, and the realistic brand sidebanders built by Uniden.

some are cold wx drifters,hehe...theres a secret i always used with the cold wx drifter...a grain of wheat light on master oss xtal.or for those that dont know xtal is crystal...73 de JW late note,ya guys forgot the hr2510 hr2600 and the Lincon, and grants...stay clear of the black Jackson and the Cobra 148gtldx it was junk...73
