If you tried to run your Texas Star with the Galaxy 98VHP, you would have to have the driver circuit disabled in the amplifier.  It has an internal driver for low power radios.  That Galaxy is a high power radio and doesn't need a driver.  It just wouldn't be a good match for that amp without them being sent to a shop.  Who knows what you'd be into for price to get up and running.  Any FCC type accepted radio would do just fine with that amp, it will be way cheaper, and much less hassle.  You'll see the same (safe) output from the amp, regardless of what is in front of it.
