I am looking for some trimmer resistors that come with only two leads.

This type of variable resistor is basically wired like a rheostat, where one of the ends is shorted to the wiper internally.

Some old CB radios used to use this type of trimmer, but i haven't been able to find a modern source for them.

the difficulty comes in because of the 'looseness' of the terminology used in selling these types of items.

so, does anyone know where to find these elusive beasts?

I have never looked for those but since I own old radio's I have radio's that use those too.

Is the problem the third lead or is it which lead is shorted to the wiper? If push came to shove could you not make a 3 lead work? I am asking not only for you but also for myself for future reference. My ancient Cybernet Chassis use those 2 lead style.

Good Luck! Happy Hunting!

P.S. Have you tried places that have a lot of vintage tube radio and tube amplifier customers??? Even if they do not have them they might be able to give you another lead on who might have them!

Thanks for the replies gentlemen!

I was hoping to find a presently manufactured version of these pots, as it would make an idea of mine much easier.

I know i can short one end to the wiper and get the same effect, i was trying to avoid having to do this step.

Looks like im just out of luck unless i get lucky in some NOS surplus situation.

If anyone does come across something that's still made these days, please let me know!
