Ok im going to cut to the chase here as I already have given the radio a tune up. It still has very low to almost no receive on 10/11 meters. 15 meters is somewhat better and 20 40 and 80 meters ok.. Is it the normal thing for the FT 101 series to all of them to have low receive on the higher bands????

Tubes, dirty band switch, dried out electrolytic caps, not as well aligned as your thought, and bad solder joints.
You know; the same list of things that fail any radio.

Maybe the filter is for CW and is too narrow.
What antenna are you using?

For what it's worth, if after a tune up you still think it is a little deaf... the other thing that used to go bad in those rigs was the first RF preamp, an inexpensive dual gate mosfet.
Stock is OK, but there were lots of better transistors during the FT-101 heydays.
Do some on line Fox Tango FT-101 searches and you'll find lots of info....
