I had the 30 amp version. It worked fine, except for fan sounding like the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. I had it fixed under warranty. It quieted down for a few days then... Whaaaa weeeeeer whhhheeeee.
I was gonna put a fluid bearing fan in it, but didn't, it went bye bye for refund.
I was reading on another site, where a couple dudes noticed fake caps in some of their units.
I am hoping since mine is a 50 amp there is a difference in size of fan and maybe a different quality. I have not read any articles of anyone having a fan problem just a meter prob. I have had good luck in buying after-market fans so far I run two 6" X 6" fans on my amp and you can not hear anything from both except in winter time it gets chilly sitting by the radio. I guess I'll find out how mine works. Thanks for the reply!
My experience didn't totally turn me off. I've been looking at a different QJE supply. I should have just fixed the one I had and been done with it. I just got a usual wild hair and dispensed with it.
