Maco Comet Antenna

I have room for the quad, both 2 and 4 elements, but not much else.

I'm leaning toward the 2 element, but I know I'd regret not getting the 4.

Decisions and billfold need to be considered. I believe I'll scratch anything from Cubex. If they can't return my calls to buy one, then I doubt they will if I have a problem.

If your going quad, bite the bullet and get the 4...Just be sure when you put it up...you won't have a problem bringing it back down to do repairs....

My finger has been hovering over the buy button on that quad since yesterday. The way I'll install it, will be fairly easy to maintain.

Have not made any decisions yet. I keep bouncing between the L4 and the Maco 5 element. The wire elements on the quads vs aluminum tubes on the Maco, I want to put it up and never take it down and I don't know how long wire elements will last with my weather. Leaning towards the Maco 5.
Curious what folks wound up going with and whether they liked their choice or bought another?

i used the bottom part of a realistic crossbow antenna for the mast for my beam,,, fiberglass and very strong,,, its been in the air almost 20 years and went thru hurricaine francis and irma,, which time i did have to take down and repair the beam but the mast stayed strong,,,,
I had a thick walled fiberglass section I was going to use to avoid driven element interference on a three element vertical beam. It was mil surplus, but it was stout. Never got around using it. Friend has a Comet for sale. If I snag it, that's what I'll use. Just a possibility at this point. Still looking at the 2 element V-Quad. I had the first iteration V-Quad and it did well.
