I was working PSK-31 tonight using Ham Radio Deluxe with DM 780 when the RSID feature told me a VE station was calling CQ using Contestia mode. I've never tried that mode, so I switched over and had a very good QSO on 80 meters. I was only running 50 watts and we had no trouble with copy. The other station indicated that Contestia was really good for weak signal work, so I'll have to give it a try.

BTW, if you're using DM780, make sure and turn on that RSID if you're working one of these "exotic" modes - other operators using an application that supports RSID will get alerted to you even if they're working a different mode. Cool Stuff!

Very cool!! I havent been on the radio much otherthan early early mornings to check into the early bird continental net on 3.940.00 they take checkins at 3AM and the actual net is from 5-6 AM but there an hour ahead on there time so I wake up at 4:30 - 4:30 and checkin.

I just got my certificate from the net for the mandatory number of checkins to be put on the roster and get the certificate.Anyone interested should check that net out its pretty big and cool to here all the stations and where there from with there temperature for comparison. it doesnt drag either it moves right along.
