That's right.Today a guy at work brought in a CB radio for me because he knew I was interested in radio. (too bad it wasn't a ham rig LOL) His father passed away last winter and while cleaning out some stuff he found an old CB radio but as it happens the radio was still in the plastic bag and was NEVER hooked up. It was made in Japan in 1976 for a Canadian company called Canada Mark Electronics Ltd.the model is Rocket MR-85. Here is a link to what the radio looks like however in the link it says it is a 23 channel but this is a 40 channel. It must surely be one of the first 40 channel radios made. The serial number is 3178 FWIW. Not sure yet what I will do with it.

Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.

Is 30 ohms worth worrying about in a 100’ run of rg8u ?
