I was getting ready to do an alignment on a Magnum S-9 (with ERF2030 finals)

there is a sticker inside that says V4150

the main board says Magnum PCBX-0619R4

weird thing is the L21 and L19 coils are gone... it's like they where never even there at all... those are kinda needed for an alignment... ideas?

I forgot to mention that it turns out that you only tune one coils and the MCU sets all modes from that... this change is NOT listed on CB tricks... either way it made for an simple alignment and the owner sure is happy with it

How do you like that radio after being inside it?

It seemed to get good reviews but is hard to find now..

It look great.

Well they seem to be a copy of RCI for the most part, the freq counter takes a little while to warm up a read correctly

To me it is about like a Galaxy 959 with a 6 digit freq counter, dual finals, it does drift a little, but not as bad as a Galaxy, the knobs are cheap feeling

You can buy the S-9 for $330-$380

You can buy an RCI 2970n2 which has a built in 200 watt power amp for around $375-$440

or an RCI 2950DX for around $220-$275 and still have money for a small amp and a case of beer

I sold mine for more than I had in it (got it as a trade, with blown finals)

A 959? Well I see the refurbs flooding ebay pretty cheap.
I guess $150 for a floater is better than spending $330 - $380.
Thanks

Why?

I'm just trying to find out as much as I can about the S-9.

I mean if it's very similar to the 959 and only a little better than I would thin the 959 is a decent cheap substitute that you wouldn't care how much it bounced around in the portable.

I am just thinking about taking the 2510 out of the portable and put it into semi retirement.
