No, no, no, not THAT kind of a wild night. I mean weather wise.:D We were supposed to get heavy rain and high winds but nobody said anything like hurricane force winds. I was lucky. I lost one shingle tab off the roof and that was it. Well except for being without power for 21 hours, it went off just after 11:00pm last night and came back on around 7:30pm tonight, and loosing an unused 6 1/2 foot satellite dish I was keeping that ended up in the river behind the house. After the water level recedes a bit I will try and figure out how to get the thing back up over the steep bank. I'm guessing the LNB is no longer good. :whistle:The beast is heavy as it's a one piece solid fiberglass dish. Anyway we took a drive around after breakfast and there were trees down on power lines everywhere.Several houses under construction were destroyed and a few roofs were lost on some buildings. A seniors condo unit lost the roof over the pool last night and the place was evacuated due to fears the entire roof would come off. It didn't. One funeral home lost most of it's roof and several 18 wheelers were blown off the highway into the ditch last night pining at least one driver. Fire and rescue cut him from the cab in the midst of the storm last night and he is going to be OK. Rescue was also called out last night after a 22 inch tree fell onto a police cruiser as the officer was on a patrol. He too had to be freed from the car but only suffered some minor injuries.During that rescue attempt one of the responding fire engines was struck by a falling tree and at that point emergency services advised dispatch that they would only be responding to imminent threat to life situations as it was just too dangerous to be on the roads. After our little sight seeing tour I dragged the generator out and settled in to await the return of power. I was lucky. At least I had water (we are on a well so I need the pump), it was warm so no heat needed but I could have started the furnace if I needed. I also had working deep freezes and a working fridge as well as lights, satellite television, and computer service but most of all I still had a roof to keep it all under. From the looks of things and the reports I have heard a lot of others were not so lucky.

Good to hear that you survived that without much damage. The last good wind that went through here took quite a few tabs, some ridge cap, and my tv antenna. When I redid the roof I found quite a few shingles were not sealed down anymore, they would kick loose every time I used the air nailer. You may want to see if yours are still sealed like they should be.

Weather guessers are theorizing that a small tornado came through this area (couple miles from me) and toppled a couple trees over the highway. The Doppler radar shows that they're probably right.

There was one a few days ago in a west-central Oregon town, with enough sunlight to definitely say it was a twister. I thought those only happened in Colorado and points east?!! (I know; they can happen just about anywhere, but they're pretty rare in the PNW.
