Hotrod, you're right based on what I see here, but I'm not sure how the NTO will respond with the hills east and west. Some say the A/P has a very low angle and being in a hole will not work out so good. Others say the antenna is a 1/4 wave and has a relatively high angel and being in a hole will be of a benefit. Based on what Avanti says about their design I believe you may be right however. It would be interesting to find out what happens in your case, but I can't make any recommendation in this regard.
