I have already searched the web, and particularly the notable sites available, but to no good result.

My need is for all the available info someone may have on the Maxon 45W.

I got this radio several years ago and it is channeled to 120 channels. At that time the info was accessible with a web search. Not so now.

What I need now is info that anyone has on it for mods that could improve the radio in more ways than the channels.

I just want to play with it.

Thanks

maxon

What is it, a commercial radio or what, I own one but it is for GMRS nad no mods necessary for this one...

DOCTOR/795

It is a 40 channel cb with weather channels.

It can be modded for 40 up and 40 down.

I've down that long ago.

I no longer have the information. I will take a photo of the area of the board that the changes were done to and you'll have to make the comparisons visually.

Ok, here it is.

Look closely at the photo. You'll see where the mod is on the board in relation to the mic jack. Also you'll see where the trace jumpered at point A is now open, and the trace is soldered closed at point B. As I recall, that was all that was needed to modify for 120 total channels. The ANL button is the band selector. Push it once for uppers. The LCD will now show a +. Push it again and you're in the lower 40 with the LCD showing a -. Push again to go back to normal band of 40. No other alignment is required.

Opening "A" and closing "B" did nothing for me.
Did it work for you Jammer?
There has got to be more to it then that.

I was working from memory.
Could be more.
Could be you use the channel 9 button instead of the ANL to go from one to the other band.

Sorry if it doesn't work...

No, it's not the channel 9 button either.
It's not a problem, I'm sure there is just something ya gotta do somewhere else to finish it off. I'll figure it out somehow,
Thanks for getting me this far!

*Edit*

Ok, jumping across "A" (factory position) causes chan. 9 "EMG" to appear when you push the channel 9 button. It then goes back to the channel you were on, if you push it again.

Jumping "B" causes the channel 9 button to go to channel 9, but without an "EMG" on the screen.
but it won't do anything if you push it again.

If you take the jumper out, the button don't work, but everything else seems the same.

Does any of that info. help anyone?
