Does anyone have handy a wiring diagram to connect a Yaesu MD-1 microphone to an Icom IC-718 radio? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Packrat, yes, the hand mic I am using on the 718 is an impedance mic, but I've seen where quite a few MD-1's are wired to the 718 with very good results.

Sonwatcher, thanks for the info. If I'm understanding your pin placement, the only wires that need to be changed are 1, 5, & 6 on the Icom side of the pigtail going into the radio????

Yes. I have a pig tail for my IC-706mkiig. It switches the pins from the Yaesu to the correct wires used in the Icom.

Pin 1 on the Icom- 718 will come from pin 8 on the Yaesu

Pin 5 Icom from pin 6 Yaesu

Pin 6 Icom from pin 7 Yaesu.

Excellent information. Thank you. I just got back from a ham fest in Deerfield, New Hampshire. Someone was selling pre-wired 8 pin pigtail extensions. I bought one and I'll use that to make my conversion from Yaesu to Icom. Thanks again for the help. 73 KB1TTX Jack.
