MFJ 1020C SWL Active Indoor Antenna 0.3 - 40 MHz

I guess it depends on why you're looking for one. If it's because you can put up any kind of outdoor antenna, then it might be work it. If it's because of ~any~ other reason, save your money.
I don't know where the advertising information came from but other than telling you what device is used in it's design, it's a semi-trailer load of what you spread on a garden. If you really need something like this thing, it's time you splurged on a decent radio.

I have the 1020B, which is pretty much the same thing. I bought it years ago when I lived in an apartment and didn't have outside antennas. I was disappointed with it because it just amplified the noise level. The signal to noise ratio stayed about the same whether it was on or off.

About the only good thing I can say about it is that it will act like a preselector with an outside antenna. If you're close to, say, an AM broadcast station and you're hearing it throughout the HF spectrum, or down into the LF region, it would probably help eliminate that.

I was just looking to tinker with it and thought it would be cool for when its storming out and my main feed line is disconnected or when camping in my trailer. I am going to build a portable antenna setup this summer but I was just curious about these indoor antennas like this one I found.

If you know someone who has one that you can listen to, or would be willing to loan it to you, I think you'd change your mind about wanting one (even to 'play' with). They honestly are the last resort, sort of. A window screen and connecting wire will do as good in most cases, and that's not as much of an exaggeration as you might think. It depends entirely on what else you have to compare it to.
