seen this at bellcb . has a decent price , anyone try this mike ?
looking at this one or copper has a desk mike with a compressor
too DM?? the mfj also has a eq very nice

I have one, and only stopped using it when I got a W2IHY setup. Good mic, built well, and sounds good. I doubt it will sound better than your D104/10DA combo you have listed in your sig though.

Hmmm that does look interesting. Should be a good mic for lots of folks and the price looks good too for what all it is and does.

i was wondering cause any asatatic d104 makes my voice too high pitched
on ssb.with the built in eq i could adjust it to my voice. tuners sound best
w/ my voice . plus the compressor would help out a little with the distance stations
[non dx]. i think this mike would make my d104 look like a childs toy. copper.com
has one too with built in compressor too. sorry 4 long response forgot about this one

There are several reason you may not sound like yourself, especially with SSB mode. A lot of 'moderation' is called for with the use of any compressor/'eq'. They only affect the 'input' to a transmitter, the audio composition. If they increase the -amount- of output of a transmitter then something is miss adjusted (before -or- after use).

i sound good on any tuner mikes +3b especially. but it quit working . my 575
works good when tone is adjusted fairly low.i know a compressor doesnt
change output . but it can be very effictive if used right. the eq id be able
to set my voice much like on the 575 with more varation.i was more curious
as to wheather any one has used this mike before and thier thoughts

That microphone is about the same as a Kenwood MC-85. They have the same features. I had one, came with the radio so used it. It takes a little 'getting used to' but does work just fine. You can 'over do it' very easily, so that 'moderation' thingy is a very good idea. I don't particularly care for a desk mic at all, so the MC-85 left when the radio did.
