I think that MFJ needs to screen those who they hire a whole lot better than they have been. Or train them to do a better job than they have been doing. Or both. The materials and design are not so much to blame as it is those who are only there to collect a paycheck and obviously don't care about their workmanship. The problems that still exist seem to be in assembly, test, and quality control.
Fried Chicken . . . . . mmmmmmm . . .
That's American craftsmanship for ya...lol Really for a guy who started a company in a hotel room he hasn't done too bad. How many hams out there don't have at least one MFJ product in the shack?
I was born and raised in Ms. and I can tell you it's all about the gene poop and I'm sure Pro151 can back me up on this one.
Is that fried chicken as good as it sounds?

You are indeed backed up on this one. Yes sir, 100%.
(And it looks like someone did a little clever editing when they quoted you. Bad natured. Bad natured indeed!)
Well my mom's was and no self respecting Southerner would dare buy chicken from a restaurant.
My wife out west here took lessons from me and advice from my mom and she's pretty darned close.
The secret is Reelfoot lard.
The man is serious about his lard. I never bought anything in a 5 gallon pail!!
