Swapped a Turner +3, +2 and a d104 da-10 bullet head (no stand) for an Autek wm 1 and QF1A.
Since I'll be using an ft 950 with the occasional use of an external West Mountain DSP speaker I will not need the QF1A for the Yaesu.
The WM 1 is exactly what I was looking for in a meter. True pep reading no calibration swr meter with two large meters. The WM 1 is the older version without lighted meters. I've read that the lights may cause iratic readings due to unwanted rfi. I don't know if is true but the meters are large enough to see even in low light conditions. It's a great meter IMO.
The QF1A might come in handy and will give it a go on the Sonar.
Just like the good eham reviews on the WM1 the QF1A got similar thumbs up. I'm left with a workman, Micronta and the nightmare MFJ 828 as backups. Next time I need to send something out for repair I'll and the 828 in the box and hope my Tec can calibrate it.
This is even though i sent it to MFJ under MFJ warranty and it came back with a letter stating it's operating condition is and was 100%. It worked or in my case didn't exactly as it was sent to MFJ and sent back. For my need the Autek WM1 exceeds my needs. That's to all who replied to my op on the Autek. 73 20160921_222212~2.jpg 20160921_222613.jpg

its not the actual bulb, any RFI comes from the wall wort power supply, a few torrids stops that.

BTW, the meter is POSITIVE ground.
I thought the positive ground odd but it has the proper wall wart and so far this meter is working excellent. Compared to the 828 anything would've been an improvement but this meter exceeds my expectations and needs. If I could get a second for backup use I'd definitely do so. I'm still hoping there's hope for the 828. Maybe a calibration will make it a viable backup.
