I want to buy a good base mic for my Cobra 148 but there doesn't seem like to much out there for a 5 pin any more. I do have a d104 tug 8 but I am not good at the soldering any suggestions? Thanks...Jeff
If soldering isn't a strong skill . . . Then, it is time to learn.
It's not that hard to do. Your need for wiring up that mic to the radio is now the incentive. Somewhere down the line, the need for soldering is essential when operating a radio. It is one thing if you buy a new mic that is pre-wired for your radio; and yet another thing if/when just one of that mic wires break. More like 'when' - than 'if'. Get over that fear, and then you are no longer limiting your skill set.
