After recently reviving my interest in radio, I bought a used Connex 3300hp-zx from Matt after watching many of his videos and talking via email. After receiving the unit, I asked him to make a couple of semi custom modifications. He politely advised that he had no interest in "custom" work, so I sent it to a member here, where I was advised that it was not tuned to it's full potential and had some questionable soldering. It was also very dirty upon initial delivery, something that I was very surprised to see. I kept my mouth shut about it for quite a while, but some of his recent videos doing custom modifications kind of made me wonder wtf.
Anyway, that's my $.02 and I wish everyone good luck with their gear.

The radio garage just popped up in the last couple of years. I have watched some of his videos when they showed up in my you tube feed. He has nice testing gear so it seems.

Well, I sent my buddy's radio to First Class Radio in Illinois. They've had it for about 5 weeks now. I've called them to see about a time frame. not pushing, just asking. Each time they says "possibly tomorrow":.
Well since we got off topic, I'll add that I've heard good things about Doug at custom cb. Also q5 is supposed to do good work.

I can only guess that is a recent comment he made on an older video. The last video I can see is about 2 years ago... when he got that $10k Rohde&Schwartz comm tester.
Ya it’s an older vid but he replied recently. So unless someone is posting on his account he’s still alive and monitoring his vids.
Maybe because he got that $$$ tester he moved on to bigger stuff.
