My experience with the Beringer 802, sm 58 and an interface hooked up to my uniden madison was good because I've learn and understand more about using mixers, eq's and outboard audio gear.
My experience led me back to one conclusion.
My silver eagle sounds better than any mixer and studio mic will ever sound on a STOCK madison (no output mods)
If your using a stock CB radio a Turner or d104 with your mic and radio's gain set correctly it will sound very nice.
Mine does.
If you want to add some nice tone to your old Turner or Astetic try what I did.
Purchase and install a we2ny replacement electret mic cartridge.
I get unsolicited good audio reports everytime.

I remember a couple weeks ago I said this from your first thread about using a mixer with your radio.

"When your done experimenting with using a mixer on your radio, I'll bet you will find your audio is better without it."

Nothing wrong with experimenting. I believe in keeping a lot of things simple especially when it comes to your audio path. The less circuitry between your mic and the radio the better I believe and the closer to the truth your audio will be.

A good mic like your Silver eagle or a D104 has plenty of audio punch along with a fine base radio like your Madison and couple that with a well spoken authoritative voice and no external audio gear is necessary.

You are wise my friend.
I did get some knowledge out of the deal. Was the gained knowledge worth the cost of the mic, mixer and interface? No. Sometimes one has too learn on their own terms and unfortunately I am that type of person. Thanks

This works pretty nicely and it's plug-and-play

Ok well first the radio has to be able to pass audio freq. above 2800. Next you need a mike that has a fairly flat response like an elctret. Then if the impedance is not good or you want to run through mixer's and ipads and such you should use a 1:1 transformer at the very least. If there is too much in the path from all of that then you need to think about direct injection etc....

In my mind it seems like getting a radio that has most of that already sorted out like a modern amateur rig then using something like an eq and maybe stand alone compression and downward expander might make sense.

I guess I do not get it though on CB when so few have gear that can actually make use of all that on the receive side. It would be like recording a show to take advantage of 3d and 4K when so few people have either in their home. It is a lot of time and money for questionable return.

It never hurts to have a good mic that matches your voice and radio. I am all for compression, downward expander small amounts of echo and delay not enough to ever hear an echo just enough to make your shack sound like a larger warmer room. Not all the crap your hear on CB with all kinds of echo like the guy is transmitting from a cave system. If you can tel that echo, delay or compression has been added than you are using too much! EQ's only make sense of Ham rigs in my opinion.

What I would really like is a better detection system like precision diode detector on CB and much better audio amp with more fidelity and less noise. DSP on the receive side would be fantastic! Never going to see that though.

Mileage varies. A local had some audio gear on a galaxy Saturn turdblow and it didn't sound as good as his d104 or Turner. The same gear on his cobra 200 sounded pretty good. He actually changed my opinion of the cobra 200...maybe he just found a good one.
