im considering purchasing an alinco dx-70-th after christmas from aes in milwauke are there any operators familiar with these transcievers as of getting them modified expanded tx mod also is the process fairly simple and how long would it take many thanks

It's an easy mod to do. You can do a search on Google or do a search for mods dk with google. One thing I'll point out to you is that everything on radio works great except the Noise Blanker. I've owned 3 of DX70's thinking that it was such a great rig that I could live with the crappy Noise Blanker while mobile but after awhile I just couldn't take it any longer. It's bad enough when a NB doesn't work that well, but when you have a NB that actually increases the noise level...well, that's unacceptable.
