OK, here is what I would like to accomplish. Take my Trucker 5000 and add shaft and stinger to make it work on 15 or 17 meters. I did some research and found that the coil is equal to 53 inches of antenna. So if I use the 22 inch shaft, the coil (which is 53 inches), and a 58 inch whip I would have 133 inches of antenna, (1/4 wave on 21.375), in a 80 inch antenna. Did I figure this right or do I need some more help here ? I guess the question I also have is, do you add the length of the shaft in to the lenght needed? Is that a confusing question or what? Or could the use the 36 inch shaft and a 63 inch whip for 17 meters?

Hello Fasteddy(how ya been?) I think he wanted you to see the formula at the bottom....

For frequencies other than those listed above, use the following formula:

468 ÷ F = ½W

½W ÷ 2 x 12 - C = Whip Length

WHERE: F = Frequency desired ; W = Wavelength ; C = Coil Factor

(Coil Factor : for W-1000 use : C=41.65 ; for Trucker 5" use: C=52.21 ; for Trucker 10" use C=53.84

The lengths calculated will be an approximate starting point only. Trim for best SWR.
