Interesting conDX today. Afternoon around 6PM EST had a QSO with 3 div. Then conDX shifted out toward the left coast around 8PM and made a few contacts in NV including CDX-501. Jumped back up to 27.475 and had a QSO with 43 div., been awhile since I was able to talk to someone "down under". Glad to see some conDX coming in, just hope they get a little more stable and consistant so one can have decent QSO's with a little length. Keep gettin in there folks. And make some CQ CDX calls on .475 and shake things up a little.

Great conditions for sure Wayne. Yesterday I got up early to try to work some European DX on 17 and 15 meters............ nuttin, but I could hear the easy coast guys working Europe. Then at about 3 O'clock my time 17 opened into Europe and I worked Switzerland, Ireland, and Cayman Islands,..... wierd for sure. Then later I heard Australia coming in too. Just goes to show you never know whats up with conditions.

I have been using a G5RV for a few years lately, I said wow the conditions REALLY SUCK. I RARELY heard any DX and when I did I was in a pile up with my 100 watts getting no contacts.

I came across a Mosley TA-34 CHEAP! It is a tri-band antenna covering 10-15-20 meter.

Once I put this sucker in the air, WOW the DX is there! I was working JA stations while other locals couldnt hear them on their G5RV. One guy actually came over to my house to listen and couldnt believe the difference. I switched back and forth from the G5RV to the beam and it was amazing. I have been working so many countries now it is unbelievable. The gain on 20 meter is 8.2 db over a dipole. I have a mono band HY-Gain 4 element with the exact same gain but I can put it together to work on 17 meter which I think I will do now that I see what a yagi can do!

Now I have heard there is alot of 2 meter DX out there but I dont hear it on my vertical so I discount it. I have a 19 element 2 meter Cushcraft in the garage just sitting collecting dust,,,,,guess its time to put it in the air :!:
