Time to upgrade again!

I have really enjoyed my Gulf Alpha Easy SAT dual band antenna but its time for a pair of replacements.

Called Pete at Gulf Alpha to get an idea on how back up he is and ended up ordering a 5 x 5 2 meter and a 8 x 8 70cm circular polarized beams. Pete said he is about 3 weeks from order to ship so we shall see !

Well some things never change, 3 weeks came and went with no word. I e-mailed Pete and he called me to let me know the antennas would ship this week. I am going to the Nearfest in Deerfield NH and want to take my Dual bander up there to sell but dont want to do it until the new antennas are here.

If I get the antenna's this week he will only be 2 weeks late, last time took me 3 months to get my dual bander. They are definitely worth the wait !!

Maybe I missed something but what are you going to use the antenna for OSCAR?
And don't tell me you would tie up a TS 2000 to work some OSCAR .... ONLY KIDDING ....

No joking My TS-2000 works very well when I have tried to hear one of the birds .... I run a 24 DB gain preamp on 2 meters .

No joking My TS-2000 works very well when I have tried to hear one of the birds .... I run a 24 DB gain preamp on 2 meters .

Well if I had to do it all again I never would have sold my FT-847. With the 2000 I can only work 1 FM bird its unusable on the other two popular birds. Its a great radio and does a decent job on HF, even the TX audio is great with the software mod.

Still no antenna's as of yet, that's a hell of a long 3 weeks. Pete said they shipped last week so maybe this weekend I'll be able to get them on the tower.
