RADIOOMAN helped me solve this riddle on this old antenna.Actually researched it for me.And i thank him greatly.
On my superscanner i had replaced the relays and stuck it up to get some readings before going up 85 feet.
Each element test 1.1 on each. When i went omni or all directional and checked swr it was in the 3s.
Thanks to RADIOOMAN he found there is a omni matching network to overcome this...Is good for low wattage.it consist of a 240 pf cap and a
9 turn coil parallel. The old ones used a 9 ft length of rg-58 shorted and on end.
My question is how would i add the rg-58 version?????They useing the shield right off the pl-259 connector then hits the 9 turn coil and cap that is parallel
and exits on the other side.Do i leave the center conductor free on entry...
Thanks for any input...:headbang
