Back in the 80s , if you had a Sigma 4 you were usually one to be reckoned with. :) Although I never saw a straight one :p the winds always seemed to have there ways with that 27 foot stinger ,bent or not, they still kicked ass on TX/RX , not the prettiest antenna on the block ether , but how many of them are that good looking to begin with ? Auh yes ! Beauty is the eye of the beholder. :p I thought my Maco Alpha V-5/8s was a site for sore eyes. ;) (my last base antenna) if the 4000 is a copy I would certainly hope to say it would perform the same as the Sigma 4 ? We also called them Salutes. I'd like to get me about a 36 inch HD TV for Christmas , but I think I can just keep on wish'in. :( Enjoy your antenna Robalo ....tis the season.

The original and only Sigma IV was made by Avanti, and later, Antenna Specialist. They did not bend! The cheap import (Salute) used poor materials and they bent easily.

I love the way the Sigma IV looks although mine didn't perform as well as my Sigma 5/8.

I bought into the, "bigger must be better" and replaced my 5/8 with the IV.

The best performing antenna I've ever had is the I-10K!

this is my old sigma or saliut

my new vector 4000 is a good antenna. the material is not too bad, the instructions are terrible but the cuts are nice and clean. and the price is better than maco.

3] Penetrator P500
4] Imax 2000
5] Antron 99
6] Archer Super Maxim 1/2 wave
7] Army 1600
8] JoGunn 3 (directional)
9] PDL 2 (directional)

but someday i'll get the cheese and wine :p

robalo i dont know how you understood the tuning instructions they gave you, they make no sense at all to me,
is the photo you posted after or before tuning?, there looks to be way too much gamma rod stuck above the gamma bracket,
how long did you set the radiator?
:?
