It is hard to beat a yagi at height, even 1/2 wl above ground works good dx.


Also there is gain with a yagi and let's not over look direction and rejection.


 Both the yagi and the vertical has it's advantages, and dis advantages.


 Vert is less expensive and does work well for DX.


Yagi is more expensive with the cost of the tower, rotor and other parts needed for correct install.


 With the conditions as good as they are on the lower bands, 17 meters and down a good dipole will work great also.
