You can build ANY antenna configuration that you want with a Stargun. The only problem with this is that all of these options confuse most people because they don't know what they want or what works best. The end result is that they end up with the performance level that THEY themselves chose to work with. As such, the Stargun's don't suck. Their lack of knowledge and their particular selection of Stargun parts / configuration that they chose to work with sucks.
Frbest, where have you been for 32 years?? Star Gun has been around longer than I have been building antennas and I have been building antennas for 11 years. What does the government have to do with the CB hobby anyway? Kale

Bubblepuppy, The 102 whip will never be obsolete but there are better performing antennas now days. It used to be the only full resanant antenna on the market and everything else was a substitute but not any more. Kale
Very well packaged, aside from bending it inhalf with a backhoe nothing could have happend to it from even the roughest handling. Arrived in thick cardboard tube with stinger and shaft taped together & a foam things taped around the coil so it fit the tube snugly.
Put it up and took a ride to tune it.
took a few times and its a pain climbing on the burban in a parking lot. didnt have to cut stinger.
with no power this thing tuned in VERY VERY WELL. much
better then the wilson 5k. no movement on 20 and 1.1 on ch40 & 1
with amp on i get 1.2-1 (not bad!)
This is one heavy duty antenna, thick as hell jerr square stock coil. big beefy shaft. with nice 1" hex welded on bottom to tighten it down to the mount you better reinforce the roof).
double set screw with one on each side with lots of beef to tighten it down and not strip it (the shaft is as thick as the screw!).
Only complaint.. what is up with that HUGE STATIC BALL!!
Well seeing that no one can get any info about the stargunn antennas, how can you set it up the 'Right' way? I know of atleast four people that called to get help on setting up the antenna, and seeing that it wasn't bought brand new from them then no help at all was given... If it was me that was selling the so called 'Best Antenna Ever' then I would have answered any questions that they had so folks could hear it on the air... But that is just me and my .02
Not the best antenna for everyone. People have to use what works for them also. Theirs a guy in Chicago who is the best at setting up these antennas. However he is hard to reach these days as well.
