Well, 808 is at it again over at the other forum. He is hypeing the "7 Stage Noise Blanker" that Magnum advertises on their new models.

He said Sam told him it is a "series of capacitors and coils, some adjustable" and that makes it special or exclusive.

My suspicion is that pretty much ANY NB/ANL circuitry in pretty much ANY export chassis fits that description, and that this is nothing more than marketing hype.

So, techs, what's the REAL deal? Is this anything special?

Probably smoke and mirrors with a retard for a salesman..........However, what difference does it make if you never see the radio?? How long has the 175 watt S-9 been pushed back?

I have the S-9 and a galaxy 88 and the noise blanker in both work nice.
I guess the galaxy boards "88 " maybe others have a 7 stage too, seeing they both have the same parts in them.
The boards look almost indentical.
808 is a nutcase.

H/L have a look at this review on the 2950 DX f rom CB World Informer.....

cbworldinformer.com/200109/2950dx_review.htm

down about the 7th paragraph

RCI claims other receiver enhancements that improve the receiver sensitivity. Also revealed, the schematic contains a seven-transistor noise blanker. We’ll put that baby to the test at the shop’s noisy location.

Hope that helps.
