I have a 1991 made in Malaysia, cobra 148gtl new in the box. No idea what it's worth. Got it after my grandfather passed away. Was packed in his gun safe.
If it actually is new in the plastic and box untouched take lots of clear pictures of everything, include a pic of it powered up and working. List it on E-Bay, it will bring stupid money. Probably 225-350 bucks.
I recently sold a very clean Taiwan 148 with the two switch mod and a locked clarifier for $200 + shipping. The original box was there, a bit beat up, but the matching serial number was still clear and present.
The Malaysia radios aren't that sought after, but if its NIB and unopened....that could bump it up. I'm with 9C1 that it could bring some strong money.
Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.
