Welcome to WWDX!

The weirdness of what is that? is another form of “welcome aboard”.

The bigger brains will be along to help describe or maybe offer links for edumacation.

Could this be birdie’s coming from my power supply ? It does this through ever band of the radio . More so on AM 26-27 MHz . Noise pulses from 2 db up to 30db on rf no problem on transmitter side .

Many possibilities. One’s home is full of emitters which can cause RFI.

1). Disconnect the coax. Still present?

— The Basic Check is to shut down the house circuits that don’t power the rig. See if that “cures” it. (What else is on the radio rig circuit; check that).

One by one turn on the other circuits. Find the circuit to which the emitter is connected.

2). If the noise went away when coax disconnected, it was being picked up by the antenna.

— The guys with Base Stations will be along any time now.

I had mentioned this in another post recently. But when I figured this out for myself I felt like I should have the big “L” on my forehead. Look around your house and see if you have a cell phone charging nearby. Unplug the charger.
