My husband passed away and from cancer. He had his own room that he called the radio room. He was into Ham and CB radio and had a lot of stuff. I am not into to that so all I know is what he paid for his stuff cause I had to go and get it. Most everything is sold, but a Linear Amplifier which I know is 1200 to 1500 watts. He paid $700.00 for it and then had to have some tubes replaced that ended up costing him $200.00. I have all the details and pictures what I do not know is where can I go to put this up for sell without getting in trouble about the wattage.

I don't know much about this equipment, I just watched him use it. So please if someone will just give me a little help please let me know. You can send and email to me here or to aoriana2006@yahoo.com. I will get it either way.

Please I have already been taken by some of his buddies on the base station that he had..that is why I will not sell to that group anymore. The guy that he brought it from and the new tubes...sold the radio to him for $700.00 and the tubes...so I know he spent $1,000.00 and when I asked him if he wanted to buy it back, he told me he would give me $200.00. So needless to say I would rather it sit here at the house than to sell it to that crooky AS.

Hello friend, Sorry to learn of your husbands passing here. Wish you well.

If you'll look (scroll down) towards the bottom of this forum we have a For Sale subforum.

Just list the linear here. People will need the brand name and model number....should be on the front of the amplifier box. Pictures would be extremely helpful and probably necessary. Posting a picture along with a text ad is not difficult and hopefully you can figure it out.

Used radio gear, especially pieces that you can not necessarily certify as "completely working as should" simply do not and will not bring anywhere near what they cost new. That is just the nature of the business. Going by your description, you should probably be able to get $400-500 out of it though. You have to also keep in mind that we're right against Christmas now and folks are having to spend extra money on that kind of stuff and we're still in this bad economy with the recession and all.

So go ahead and list the item here with pictures if you can....and see what happens. It might have a better chance of selling well towards next spring rather than now at Christmas time.

Good luck

Sorry fior your loss.
Must be a difficult time...

Welcome to the forum! Posting pictures will help selling the items much faster - plus the inclusion of the brand and model numbers. They can be found easily on the items. If in doubt; feel free to ask questions on this forum.

Sorry to hear of your loss I know first hand about the long road one travels with this disease and the fact that people want to ad by rippiong you off doesnt help.. My wife and I have a 3 hour 1 way trip to Marshfield Wi Cancer Clinic tomorrow as I go every few months hell it use to be every 6 weeks!!!

I often think about what my wife and kids are going to do with my radio equipment if something should happen to me. Fortunatly my wife and kids are also licensed Ham operators so thy know whats what. I also have seen people get ripped off by friends and worst case scenarios family members.

I would just post the item in the Swap Shop section here make model and what you know about it new tubes as you mentioned etc. If folks are interested they will ask for pics Im sure If its a good find someone may jump on it right away.;)
