{Cry_river}Hi, I am here to ask what I can do about this situation...My bf tried to turn the vr18 pod and it wouldn't turn back to the original setting and when he tried to get it to go back the top (the white part) came off and I was wondering if there was anything we could do to fix that part...Thanks!

If you or BC has or know anyone.with soldering.skills,it will have to be unsoldered & replaced with like part. The # on the top of it.will tell you the size of it.. good luck. If ya'll are going to be doing the replacement. Just make sure that all power is disconnected. From the unit. I know that parts a nobrainer but just giving caution. The piece is called "vR" =variable resistor

Thank you, and I was thinking about that, now if we have other cb laying around and they have the same vr18 pod in it can we still use it? I am asking because they are not the same radios and didn't want to mess up anymore than what he already did

Ummm; no it is not that easy.

You will need to take out the broken part/unsolder it from the board and then using an ohm meter measure its resistance. They do not all have the same resistance just because they look the same! Then you can buy another one that has the exact same resistance value. Then re-solder the new part back on the board.

Then that part will need to be adjusted correctly . . .
