My verizon contract ends December 12 I have a droid x and I want to replace it with another type of phone I prefer to stick with Motorola and want something with 4g (no 4g here but useful when in l.a) and also larger than my droid x.

I had the X2 and recently bought a Droid Razr Maxx. Awesome phone, beats X2 hands down. Insane battery life.

If you have unlimited like myself, the only way you can keep it when renewing is to buy your phone outright. If you take a subsidized deal with Verizon you will lose your unlimited.

Ok, well here is what Verizon has done. If you use your upgrade to get a new phone at a cheap price, you loose your unlimited data plan.

I have a DROID X that is eligible for an upgrade, but when I went in to upgrade they dropped that bombshell on me, so I still have a DROID X.

From my cold dead hands will they get my unlimited data plan.

If you buy a phone at full price, you can keep the unlimited data.

That's terrible no way am I paying full price for the razr hd or maxx hd. I use my data more than minutes.

I replaced the LCD on this DROID X for less than $20. That included parts, tools, and shipping.

I use my phone for netflix while I am on the road, and stream pandora or scanner radio all day while I drive. I average 25gb a month data. Verizon has "investigated" me. Basically they checked to make sure I am not using all that data for business purposes.
