Got a new in the package antenna for a good price. It's A Alpha-Delta DX-CC
Will be putting it up soon. I have the coax now and My new radio Kenwood TS-480 ( a Few weeks old now ) Have it connected to the laptop also. Just listening for now And have used it on 10 meters with the Imax... When I put up the antenna I was told I don't have to cut to tune. That I can fold and tape the ends to the correct length. I should be able to borrow an antenna anawlizer. Planning on putting it up in a few weeks.

I have the DX-CC as well, nice antenna. Just follow the instructions and you will be good. Antenna analyzer makes life easy with that antenna.

I should add that 80 metres is fairly narrow for bandwidth so tune to where you think you'll be or use a tuner.

I was told not to cut the wires for matching the antenna, fold over and tape. Has anyone tried this.

Yes, I have this same antenna and have used it for years. No need to cut - just do exactly like you were told. The antenna is a really well made multi-band dipole coil loaded for 75/80 meters.

Take pics and post them after you get it installed!
