The "new for 2017" Cobra 29 LXMAX smart CB radio can interface with your smart phone, can record 10 seconds of on air audio and play it back with "Rewind-play-Again" feature, scan CB band/ wx and more!

Link Here, Also one is on eBay right now, but not much info is on the net about this yet. At first I thought it was a prank, but the radio on eBay is probably not fake, lol.

I hope Cobra makes a 29 MAXssb, lol.
Seriously though, this one looks good for an AM radio, feature wise.

I can imagine some "custom firmware" and Android apps being hacked together; to open this baby up for all kinds of (bluetooth) fun.

If it can send caller ID info to your CB through an app, read off texts to you, provide "Location based Alerts" whatever that is, iRadar app, CB SCAN (How many radios do this? Ever produced.. maybe ten models.)
You could write your own Android or Linux application to link the radio to an ssh server, and send "data" through the radio or grab "data" from it. You can open up all kinds of doors with the 2.4 gHz link. (BT) And do some interesting "mods", wireless.

A2DP audio streaming, w/mods you can bring a new meaning to the term "rolling a gate" plus the play-back-function looks like a neat place to try and link that audio back into the mic input and re-broadcast the recorded sample! [I never recommend running a modified radio on-air.]

I think this radio is more practical for drivers because of all the features, and MUCh more ideal than the "LCD" Export that had a USB port/mp3 player.
I wonder if it is SMT.

Just gadgetry to try to boost sales from a dwindling market, at least with Truck drivers.

I thought Connex stooped to a new low with the big titty knobs. Although, that might be a collectible someday.
Can't help but think of the Joe Walsh song "ILBT". :)
