Well, you didn't see it because I took it down.
The customer I wired up the handset for wanted the radio reverted back to ordinary - wanted to use it in a mobile.
He had set it up for Hi-Fi - but when he tried the mic he got reports that the audio was "flat" and weak.
Partially due to the Hi-Fi mod, but we had to "tweak" the radio to make the mic sound better.
It's Noise Cancelling - but you can't have fidelity without a sacrifice, in this case - it was "drive level" and he didn't like having to "push his face into it" - so we opened up the mic cradle and all, to get at the "spit screen" and breath and pop filter and make some changes to revert it to an ordinary mic and it sounded pretty good.
Haven't heard from him in nearly a year so I can only hope he and the mic are doing ok.
I took it (my review) down because it would seem to have been an unfair review - after having to undo anothers works done to a radio just to get it back to working, using and talking on, an ordinary mic. So the review seemed negative but it really should have not been about or towards the mic, the review should have been more about how to deconvert radios made for Hi-Fi and making them work like ordinary radios.
The mic seems ok, but the Noise cancelling part? Like any other Noise Cancelling mic out there. The Element is what makes the difference - this was a better quality but you really had to work over the radios' mods to get it right.
The type of mods that the mic can use, are similar to the Goldfinger ones - just make room for the fidelity.

Shopping around I found this page and remembered this thread, turns out driver extreme is part of procomm. Not really for the ham guys but it's nice to see someone is actually going extra to make products for us cb'rs who drive trucks. The antennas are nice, look like derived from skip shooters and they even have truck specific mounts. I've added the link

Reminds me there’s not a truck stop I’ve ever been into that doesn’t have 4-5’ or more of hanging and shelf space dedicated to CB Radio gear.
Loves TC even positions it that it can’t be missed on entering the building.

No difference between CB & Ham gear IF quality, performance & reliability are the primary concerns. Only real difference is center frequency!
And for that matter, ProComm makes all kinds of ham based products. Not uncommon to find guys using their mobile antennas for dipoles on multiple different bands. They even came out with a heavy duty SS dipole mount to accommodate them!
The only problem I find is that there aren't many retailers that have them. I'd be willing to try one but 60+ bucks from Bobs is a little steep at the moment.

I would suggest reading my comments in the other thread though. It discusses making modifications to the internal sound damping material to accommodate one's desired tonality, output level & noise cancelling characteristics. Those aren't huge differences, but they are both audibly discernible (if you know how to listen) and measurable (if you have the test gear).
As a side note, you're not going to find this mic at throw-away prices. At least, not yet. I know distribution is limited for this very purpose.
So are you saying that the manufacture is purposely limiting production to keep the price up?

That's NOT what I said, nor implied. I said that distribution is being controlled so as to properly market the product. Cadillac wants their products sold & represented by Cadillac dealers. Same goes for Mercedes or any other reputable product.
Part of the value of what you are buying comes from the dealer, their knowledge & their support. As such, they don't want customers to have issues after buying the product at Walmart, Farm & Fleet or Amazon & not being able to get the necessary support to make them happy. On top of that, the product may not even be best suited for the given application. A good manufacturer & dealer that supports their products can head that off at the beginning, saving everyone a lot of trouble.
Once you get past the "I want it all & I want it as cheap as the cheap crap I'm used to buying" mentality, it all makes sense.
One more thing: If this mic said "Yaesu", "Kenwood" or "Heil" on it, would the retail price be considered expensive? Quite the contrary.
Just because it is being marketed within the CB industry doesn't mean that high levels of R&D weren't conducted & that it can't be used in other "higher end" industries. In fact, you might be surprised with who actually manufacturers various products with various names on them.

typical cb mic. 300hz - 5khz (or) 10khz with that nasty sounding spike around 2khz or so giving it that thin, sibilance laden sound that most cb mics have. and the plosive's are there too which are very hard to listen to. gotta love the cheap mic elements manufacturers use. horrible sounding.
As a sidebar to the side note - you were doing fine until here...
The person I'm referring to paid over $75 just to get it.
To me - it's $teep - but the quality of the build is good, construction and fit to finish is also well done, but to say they purposely limited production...
